The Different Parking Options at an Airport

Parking

Whether it’s for a couple of hours or multiple days, if you take your car to the airport, you need to consider airport parking and the costs. Depending on the airport size, there are multiple parking options you can choose from. Here are some of the most prevalent parking options at and around airports, their benefits, and downsides.

Airport Parking in Orlando

How many parking lots and different parking options an airport has is largely tied to its size and the number of visitors it typically receives in a day. To get a good overview, we’re looking at the many options for parking at Orlando Airport.

The Orlando International Airport (MCO) is a major international gateway for flights from the mid-Florida region to destinations across the world. As the busiest airport in the entire state, and among the ten busiest airports in the US, it is respectively big and has many different parking options. We also include non-official airport parking lot providers in the region.

To avoid people parking at the side of the road, so they won’t have to pay fees, there are cell phone lots where drivers can wait to pick people up for free. They are not covered or patrolled, but vehicles cannot be left overnight or be unattended.

Non-Official Airport Parking

Next to the official airport parking, there are parking lot providers in the area that are not affiliated to the airport. They might be farther away from the terminals, but they also offer better prices and a great service.

They typically include self-parking, shuttle, and valet services. Websites like Parkos.com, where you can compare the costs and services of parking providers, will show you the best prices.

Here, a day’s stay can cost as little as $4. How low the costs are is mostly depended on the specific dates and how far in advance you book them online. The earlier you book, the cheaper the prices are.

Conclusion

If you want to take your own car to the airport, you have several parking options. The official airport parking lots are more expensive, but offer a variety of services and benefit from the close distance to the terminals. Non-official parking lots are less expensive. They might be farther away, but offer shuttle and valet services to make up for the distance. Compare their services and book them in advance to get the best prices.
