Apple is likely to utilize Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology in order to create smaller bezels for the iPhone 16 Pro Max. This new technology will allow for better layout of the circuitry under the screen and reduces the bezels to 1.15 millimeters.

This improvement is a departure over the 1.5 millimetre bezels that are found on iPhone 15 Pro models, made possible by low-injection pressure over-molding (LIPO) technology.
