Capital One Continues to Innovate in Travel

Travel

Capital One continues to build a world-class travel brand and offer industry-leading solutions designed to elevate and improve the travel experience — this time with three new premium travel benefits for cardholders, including:

  • Capital One Travel Premier Collection, a thoughtfully curated selection of hundreds of luxury hotels and resorts located in alluring destinations around the world. Found only through Capital One Travel and available to Venture X cardholders later this year, customers will be able to enjoy a suite of premium benefits and elevated earn on each and every stay.
  • Capital One Landing, a new chef-driven concept focused on bringing an elevated experience to the heart of the terminal in partnership with the award-winning José Andrés Group.
  • An exclusive partnership with PRIOR, a modern travel company made up of a team of tastemakers and experts that specializes in unique experiences and editorial from destinations across the globe that will allow customers to feel “in the know”.

These exciting launches build on the success we’ve seen with Capital One Travel, our smarter booking experience powered by Hopper, and our first Capital One Lounge, which opened last year at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).

A Thoughtfully Curated Capital One Travel Premier Collection

Launching to cardholders later this year, the new Capital One Travel Premier Collection will make it possible for Venture X customers to find and book stays at a thoughtfully curated group of luxury hotels and resorts, without having to be part of a loyalty program, while also delivering top-tier benefits and elevated earn.

Seamlessly integrated into Capital One Travel, Venture X cardholders will earn unlimited 10X miles per dollar on Premier Collection bookings. In addition to the elevated earn rate, Venture X cardholders are eligible to receive a suite of premium benefits when booking through the Premier Collection including:

  • A $100 USD experience credit (or the local equivalent) to use on dining, spa, and other activities during their stay
  • Daily breakfast for two
  • Complimentary Wifi
  • Additional benefits, including a room upgrade, early check-in, late checkout, and more when available.

Our team hand-selected each and every property within the Premier Collection, looking beyond the obvious to find a diverse group of one-of-a-kind luxury hotels and resorts. When building the collection, we wanted to ensure that each property would be able to provide our most discerning travelers with unparalleled service, authentic character and locally immersive experiences. Select hotels and resorts in the collection include: The Ned NoMad (New York City), Montage Laguna Beach (California), 1 Hotel South Beach (Florida), COMO Castello Del Nero (Italy), Euphoria Retreat (Greece), Hotel Cafe Royal (London), Majestic Hotel (Barcelona), The Carlin Hotel (New Zealand), The Plettenberg (South Africa), and Sugar Beach, a Viceroy Resort (St. Lucia).

First-Class Dining Experiences in the Heart of the Terminal

Capital One is continuing to lead the way in rethinking the travel and lounge experience. Last year, we revamped the traditional lounge with the opening of our Capital One Lounge at DFW. And now, we’re introducing Capital One Landing, a new chef-driven concept focused on bringing an elevated experience to the heart of the terminal.

Initially debuting at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) and New York’s LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal B (LGA), this culinary-focused concept will offer a top-notch experience that travelers can enjoy just a short walk from their gate. Building upon our Capital One Dining partnership with the award-winning José Andrés Group, the award-winning Chef José Andrés and his team will curate the menu, focusing on fresh, unique, and inventive food for travelers.

“Travel is a huge part of my life, and food is deeply linked to the travel experience,” said chef José Andrés. “It’s the best way to learn about a place and its people. But as someone who spends a lot of time in airports, many times I find myself wanting more. When Capital One came to us with the idea of creating a new kind of dining experience, our team immediately started to think of the Spanish tapas way of eating with the bounty of American farms and traditions – the very best of both countries. We cannot wait to share these new Capital One Landings with the people of the world!”

We are also actively preparing for the openings of our Capital One Lounges at Denver International Airport (DEN) and Dulles International Airport (IAD) early next year, and expect to share more details on both of these locations in the coming months.

Access to Premium Travel Experiences with new Capital One Partner, PRIOR

Capital One is introducing a partnership with PRIOR, a modern travel company made up of a team of tastemakers that specializes in unique experiences and editorial from destinations across the globe. Venture X cardholders now receive access to exclusive trips curated by the experts at PRIOR, available only on Capital One Entertainment. From coast to coast, these experiences include top-tier accommodations, behind-the-scenes access, iconic entertainment and dining experiences, and more.

“This new partnership with PRIOR builds on our journey to provide cardholders with unforgettable experiences in the areas we know they love, whether that’s travel, dining, or entertainment,” said Monica Weaver, Head of Branded Card Partnerships and Experiences. “We were especially drawn to PRIOR’s approach of creating travel experiences and editorial content that are geared towards the next generation of travelers who are looking for experiences that take you behind-the scenes and make you feel like you are in-the-know.”

Venture X cardholders also receive complimentary access to a PRIOR Subscription ($149 annual cost), a new offering that unlocks their global travel guides, a twice-weekly newsletter, and early booking to their suite of trips, all created by their team of seasoned travel and culture experts, and locals.

A differentiated travel approach

Capital One continues to approach travel in a completely new way. Instead of just relying on traditional travel services, we are continuing to challenge the status quo, building new, industry-leading solutions specifically designed to solve the pain points our customers often face throughout the journey.

“I am so proud to see where our team has come in our continued effort to build an end-to-end travel brand that sets a new standard for travel,” says Matt Knise, Managing Vice President of U.S. Card at Capital One. “By listening to our customers, continuing to analyze the ever-evolving travel landscape, and working closely with our expert industry partners to find solutions, we’re delivering on our mission to continue to raise the bar and deliver top-notch travel experiences for our customers.”
