BOCHK Launches iService 24-Hour Video Banking Service

Bank Of China

Bank of China (Hong Kong) (“BOCHK”) announces the launch of iService, a 24-hour video banking service located in Shui Chuen O Estate of Shatin, the New Territories. This service allows customers and the general public to enquire and handle their banking matters anytime they like.

BOCHK’s iService offers Shui Chuen O residents a 24/7 video banking service, covering credit card, personal loan, mortgage, travel insurance, registration of payroll service, account opening for existing customers, Integrated Account Service upgrade, banknote reservation, document submission and enquiry services, meeting their banking needs beyond the opening hours of branches.

At the launching ceremony, Mr Norman Chan, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Monetary Authority, said, “I am pleased that BOCHK launches its ‘iService’ in the newly completed Shui Chuen O Estate today. Together with other facilities in the automated banking centre, it provides flexible banking services to residents of the Shui Chuen O Estate which is located away from the town centre of Shatin. This will better address the needs of the general public for basic banking services, putting the spirit of ‘financial inclusion’ into practice. In the future, I hope that large banks in Hong Kong, particularly the note-issuing banks, can fulfil the social responsibility and always commit to the spirit of ‘customer-centrism’ in providing appropriate and convenient banking services for the general public.”

Mr Yue Yi, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of BOCHK, said, “Rooted in Hong Kong for nearly a century, BOCHK has been dedicated to fostering ‘financial inclusion’ by offering convenient banking services to people from all walks of life. We are the first to open an Automated Banking Centre (“ABC”) in this newly built Shui Cheun O Estate, with the roundthe-clock iService installed that goes beyond the limit of traditional opening hours of branches, to better serve residents in the area. Upholding customer-centric spirit, we will continue to devote our resources to product and service innovations, and the application of financial technologies to different banking services. We strive to provide the finest banking experience to the general public in Hong Kong, anytime, anywhere.”

BOCHK is dedicated to promoting digitalised banking services. We have became the first local bank to offer e-Cheque issuance service on mobile devices, and recently launched the Small Value Transfer service to fulfil customer needs for more convenient and intelligent banking services in daily life.

From now until 31 October 2016, customers can enjoy a host of privilege offers upon completion of designated transactions or applications via iService, which is available at Shui Chuen O Estate in Shatin, D • PARK in Tsuen Wan and Discovery Bay on Lantau. Please refer to the Appendix for details.
