United Airlines Offers Customers More Ways to Get to Europe Next Summer Including New Service to Porto, Portugal and Reykjavik, Iceland

United Airlines (UAL) announced new nonstop seasonal service to four popular European destinations including Reykjavik, Iceland, Porto, Portugal, Edinburgh, Scotland, and Zurich, Switzerland. United’s 2018 summer schedule offers more options for United customers from more than 100 North American cities to conveniently connect to Europe with just one stop in New York/Newark, San Francisco or Washington/Dulles hubs. Subject to government approval. These flights are now available for purchase.

“As we continue growing our global route network we are offering more choice and convenience to travel internationally, something our customers have told us they want,” said Patrick Quayle, United’s vice president of International Network. “The new seasonal summer flights offer customers, even more, opportunities to plan summer travel to four of Europes most beautiful cities.”

In addition to United’s new summer offerings to IcelandPortugalScotland, and Switzerland, the airline will start daily service between Los Angeles and Singapore and between New York/Newark and Buenos Aires in October 2017and in January 2018, will begin daily nonstop service between Houston and Sydney. Subject to government approval.

New York/Newark (EWR) to Porto, Portugal (OPO)

United’s daily nonstop service between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Porto (OPO) will operate using Boeing 757 aircraft. Flight times will be 7 hours 5 minutes eastbound and 8 hours westbound.

United’s daily nonstop service between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Reykjavik (KEF) will operate using Boeing 757 aircraft. Flight times will be 5 hours 40 minutes eastbound and 6 hours 10 minutes westbound.

The nonstop flights between San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Zurich, Switzerland (ZRH) will operate daily with Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft. Flight times for the Zurich service will be 11 hours eastbound and 11 hours 50 minutes westbound. United also offers daily year-round service between Zurich and New York/Newark and Washington/Dulles. United’s San Francisco service is conveniently timed for roundtrip connections beyond Zurichincluding DelhiMilanAthens and Geneva with SWISS, a member of Star Alliance.

The nonstop flights between Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Edinburgh, Scotland (EDI) will operate daily with Boeing 757 aircraft. Flight times for the Edinburgh service will be 7 hours 15 minutes eastbound and 8 hours westbound. United also offers seasonal summer service to Edinburgh from Chicago and year-round service from New York/Newark.

Seasonal service from ChicagoSan Francisco and Washington, D.C. extended

United is extending its 2018 trans-Atlantic summer route schedule from ChicagoSan Francisco and Washington/Dullesby making flights available earlier and operating through late October 2018. Daily seasonal service between ChicagoandEdinburgh and between San Francisco and Munich begins May 4 and ends Oct. 26, 2018 and Seasonal service between Chicago and Dublin and between Washington/Dulles and Lisbon, Portugal will start April 9, 2018 and end Oct.26, 2018.
