NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland launch 2018 Student Account

New account entitles students to choose between three offers.

As students prepare for university, this year NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland are giving students the choice to pick the reward that best suits their lifestyle when they sign up to the new Student Account. Students can choose between a subscription to Amazon Prime Student, a National Express Coachcard, or a Tastecard.

The four year Coachcard gives students a third off standard fares on National Express’ network, which serves over 900 destinations including major airports, cities and attractions as well as serving all major university cities.

Some students may prefer to benefit from the 1-year Amazon Prime Student membership which includes unlimited One-Day Delivery on millions of items, unlimited streaming of thousands of movies and TV shows with Prime Video, access to a growing selection of over two million songs with Prime Music and much more. NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland have even thrown in a £10 Gift Card.

The third option, a Tastecard, gives savvy students access to up to 50% off or 2 for 1 meals at participating restaurants as well as 40% off cinema tickets and 70% off hotels.

The new student account offers an interest free overdraft*, as well as a mobile banking app to help students better manage their finances on the move. The account also offers GetCash, which can be used to withdraw money without a bankcard.

Haydn Williams Head of Student Accounts at NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland said, “Our Student Account helps students to stay on top of their finances, whether it is through the mobile banking app, perks to suit every student lifestyle or access to their money when they need it most using Get Cash.”
*Students can apply for up to £500 interest free overdraft in their first term and up to a maximum of £2,000 throughout their studies.
