akoyaLuxury real estate developer, DAMAC Properties has announced the extension of The Drive at AKOYA, making it one of the longest outdoor shopping and entertainment options in Dubai and the region.

Reflective of La Rambla in Barcelona or Piccadilly in London, The Drive at AKOYA will now be extended to stretch 2.5 km through the luxury development AKOYA by DAMAC. The Drive at AKOYA will now include convenience community retail, high street retail, innovative food and beverage outlets in addition to multiple entertainment attractions suitable for all ages.

The announcement made earlier today of the extension comes after the success of the initial launch of The Drive at AKOYA. Originally 1.3 kms long, the new extended attraction will start from the “Catwalk”, a community convenience retail centre located near the entrance of AKOYA by DAMAC and anchored by the famous Waitrose chain. It will then take you along the various attractions including the outdoor ice-skating rink, outdoor cinema, the miniature golfing attraction and the interactive children’s entertainment area. It will pass the hotels from NAIA by DAMAC and DAMAC Maison and then stretches further through a large spectacular curve hosting low rise golf view apartments featuring markets reminiscent of old Dubai before reaching a unique food and beverage experience presented through strategically located outlets directly overlooking the golf course of the Trump International Golf Club, Dubai.

The various restaurants and shops overlooking the golf course will offer a rich cultural and culinary experience from different corners of the world to residents and visitors, with vistas across the golf course.

‘’We have seen such a positive response from our customers to The Drive at AKOYA that we have decided to evolve the concept further. This includes the lengthening of the experience in addition to the mix of attractions’’ said Niall McLoughlin, Senior Vice President, DAMAC Properties. ‘’ We are confident that The Drive at AKOYA will become one of popular attractions for everyone living in Dubai and for all visitors from abroad.

“The activities linked directly to the strip will form a unique destination for shoppers, walkers and joggers, family members from different ages and people searching for relaxation or seeking a unique environment for meeting friends and enjoying their time”.
